Which was a good thing, because it was a good game right from the start. We led off with two base hits on two pitches, taking an early lead. Cleveland caught up in the second and pulled ahead in the third. But then in the bottom of the third we put a string of doubles together, giving us a 4 to 2 lead that held for the rest of the game.
The player of the game was Greg Holland, in part because he did exactly what you want your closer to do (three straight outs) and in part because it was nice to see him again. The play of the game once again goes to Alcides “Sportscenter” Escobar. In the top of the eighth he took what looked like a certain infield single and turned it into an out by throwing hard and on target when it honestly looked like he would never have had time to even get a grip on the ball.
